For our university and college campus clients, we carefully recruit, screen and select our personnel based on the role they will play in the security program, their ability to work well in a university setting (specifically dealing effectively with students and faculty), their maturity and their ability to demonstrate the success factors that have been specifically developed for each position and shift.
Our campus (university and college)“culture match” process takes into account an officers’ personality, skill set, talents and interests and matches these with the unique requirements of the college/university campus setting we serve and each position to be staffed. Our recruiting sources include the military, law enforcement, educational and customer service fields.
SecurAmerica’s university style training programming is customized to the needs of each college and university client. Our learning pillars include student/faculty public relations and customer service; campus safety and security concepts, including rules enforcement; emergency preparedness (including active shooter) and response; and liability avoidance/risk management.
Our instructors are learning professionals who facilitate classroom teaching, interaction and testing in our state-of-the-art and fully staffed learning centers. Every officer assigned to a college or university client is “certified” as a Campus Security Professional (CSP). This certification process includes the use of customized OJT checklists, an initial post test, weekly evaluations during an officer’s first 30 days and a final certification examination.
